Hockey
The game is hockey. There are two teams of two players each.
A full deck of cards and a lot of beer is needed to play this game.
Each player has a drinking partner on the other team. The deck is dealt out,
with each player receiving thirteen cards each. The player to the left of
the dealer throws the first card.

The object of the game is to "score" off the previous player's card.
For example, if a player were to throw a ten, the opponent would throw
a ten of their own in order to score. Our house rule is that eights and
jacks are blocks, meaning that if one of those cards is thrown, it cannot
be scored off of, but blocks cannot be thrown in consecutive turns.
The penalty for being scored upon is drinking until your drinking partner
tells you to stop. Since the amount that the person drinks is based upon the
will of the opponent, things can get ugly, depending on the will of the goal
scoring team. After each player has thrown all of their cards, the first period
of the game is over, and the deck is shuffled and redealt. As in real hockey,
there are three periods. The winner, obviously is the team with the most goals
at the end of the game. Here in Chicago, we like to credit our favorite
Blackhawks with every "goal" we score. Once the third period rolls around,
players tend to perform drunken goal celebrations and the noise level reaches
that of a real hockey arena. This game is an ideal warm-up for a night of
drinking. Feel free to add it to your list.
